Third trimester: 28-40 weeks

During the third trimester of pregnancy both baby and you will be getting ready for their approaching birthday – hooray!  You may be finding day-to-day activities such as breathing, moving and sleeping more challenging as you journey through this final stage of pregnancy.   Therefore reconnect with friend and family preparing for your baby’s arrival into the world.  Set aside time to rest and adjust  for labour as baby gets into position for his/her big trip.

Massage at this stage combines techniques, stretching and breathing exercise, helping to:

  • Alleviate stress on weight-bearing joints
  • Ease muscular aches, swollen joints/limbs and ‘restless limbs’
  • Reduce tiredness, promote sleep and overall well being
  • Encourage the baby into the correct foetal position (through gentle exercises)
